Earlier this past year, YG Entertainment revealed that they were working on a new girl group. In the past there had been hints that the group would make their debut as early as January. Ever since, Big Bang’s comeback has been forecast for February, the company’s focus has shifted to their preparations. This shift in scheduling has in turn put off the girl group’s debut to a later date.

Brown Eyed Girls Miryo will release her first solo album on February 1. Her agency revealed pictures of her working at the studio. The producer of Miryo’s solo album Lance stated, “We will show you an album that will feature Miryo’s unique charms unseen on the Brown Eyed Girls. Also, the album will be comparable to albums from veteran singers in terms of quality.”

SNSD’s YoonA & Yuri Appear in Japanese SAT
SNSD members Yuri and YoonA’s names were featured on the Japanese SAT. The Japanese SAT exam similar to America and Korea’s, the aptitude test which evaluates students and determines their college attendance was held in Japan on January 14. During the Korean language portion, members Yuri and YoonA’s named appeared in some of the problems asked. That day, during the Korean test, Yuri’s name was mentioned in paragraph 2-C question 7 in the following problem : "Yuri couldn’t even speak because she was () surprised" and students had to fill in the parenthesis with the word (so).

Se7en’s new Japanese single will be realesed on January 18 as announced in Se7en’s Japanese home page. Se7en himself announced his upcoming album through his Twitter account, posting a photo of him with the album’s three different covers.

Park Taeyang of new boy band Chaos recently revealed that he misses his teacher, actor Choi Min Soo.
Park Taeyang first met Choi Min Soo on KBS 2TV’s “Happy Sunday: Zero Member” in 2006. “Zero Member” was a show that helped misbehaving high school students get on the right path in life. Park Taeyang was a high school senior on the show, and received rigorous instruction from teacher Choi Min Soo.
Through this, Park Taeyang was able to dream of becoming a singer, and after two years of training, was able to debut with group Chaos.

SNSD Has a Successful Hong Kong Concert
SNSD held a concert which was a part of their “2012 Girls’ Generation Tour in HONGKONG” at the Hong Kong Asia World Arena on January 15. The girls captivated the fans with their fantastic stage performances and passion. The concert began with “Tell Me Your Wish” and besides performances such as “Mr. Taxi,” “Oh!” “Gee,” and “The Boys” each member had their own individual performance which made up a total of 32 performances.
