EXID’s Solji Talks About Ending Her Hiatus Through “The King Of Mask Singer”
Her appearance on the show marked her return to the entertainment industry after nearly a two-year hiatus. (She was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2016 and had orbital decompression surgery in 2018.)
After taking off her mask on the October 21 episode, Solji became emotional and shed tears as she thanked the audience and panelists for their warm welcome.
On October 22, Solji sat down for an interview with News1 and said, “I was so happy to see everyone in person again. I felt emotional and thought that this is a new beginning. That’s why I cried.”
She added, “A lot of people enjoyed the first time I went on ‘The King of Mask Singer.’ I wanted to greet my fans again through my singing and thought that going on the same show again would be a good opportunity.”
“I’m so grateful to everyone who has welcomed me back after my return,” she said. “I’m particularly grateful for my fans, who have waited for me for a long time.”
When asked about the current state of her health, she replied, “I’m healthy now. The health issue I was having had to do with hormone levels, so I’m going to keep carefully managing my condition.”
She concluded, “I’m excited for both EXID to return as a full group and to return to active solo promotions.”
