SHINee's Minho And Key To Enlist In Military This Spring

Following Onew’s enlistment last month, SHINee’s Minho and Key are preparing to enlist in the military this spring.

On January 17, news outlet Sports Chosun reported that according to an unnamed source at SM Entertainment, Minho and Key are currently planning to fulfill their mandatory military service in the near future.

In a phone call with Sports Chosun, the source stated, “Key and Minho are preparing to enlist in the first half of this year. Key applied to serve in the military band and is currently waiting to receive his results on January 25. [If his application is accepted,] he will be enlisting in March of this year.”

“Minho is preparing to enlist in the first half of this year,” the source continued. “It seems likely that Key and Minho will both enlist around the same time.”

Later that day, SM Entertainment officially confirmed, “It’s true that SHINee’s Key and Minho are planning to enlist in the first half of this year, but the exact dates have not yet been decided.”

Prior to his enlistment, Key will be making his silver-screen debut in the upcoming film “Hit and Run,” which will premiere on January 30. Meanwhile, Minho recently completed filming for his new movie “Jangsa-ri 9.15” (working title), which is scheduled for a release sometime next year.

Key will also be holding his first Korean solo concert in February, while Minho will soon be embarking on a solo fan meeting tour of Asia.

Stay tuned for more updates on both SHINee members’ plans!
