Idols Who Got To Know Each Other As High School Homeroom Buddies
Every February, Korean high schools and universities hold ceremonies for their graduates. This year was no exception as students from across the country attended their graduation and celebrated finally becoming adults!
Many idols also graduated from their schools including Hanlim Arts School and the School of Performing Arts Seoul last week, after which they took to social media to express gratitude and share excitement about graduating.
In celebration of their big achievement in life, here are idol members who became friends after being assigned to the same homeroom in high school!
1. Highlight’s Yang Yoseob and Lee Gikwang
These two Highlight members are seriously friend goals. They were assigned to the same homeroom in their senior year of high school when Yang Yoseob transferred to Ahyeon Industrial Information School at which Lee Gikwang was already a student.
Look how cute they were back in high school!
These two attended Goyang Baekseok High School together, where they also actively promoted in a school club called “Heavenly Voice.” After they became successful in their respective groups, a video of them covering Brown Eyed Soul’s “My Story” in high school went viral and proved that their voices have been smooth and charming since the beginning.

These three became homeroom buddies when BTS’s Jimin and V transferred to Korea Arts School from Busan Performing Arts School and Daegu Jaeil High School, respectively. Everyone is already well-aware of the friendship between Hayoung and Yerin! The two became close friends when they entered the School of Performing Arts Seoul as students in the Department of Applied Music.

While Joy is also close with Oh Hayoung and Yerin, she was never in the same homeroom with them. Instead, she was in the same homeroom as B.A.P’s Zelo! Their friendship may come off as unexpected to some of us, but the two idols were in the same homeroom for all three years of high school!
7. Lovelyz’s Sujeong and Golden Child’s Jangjun
These two attended the School of Performing Arts together! They both graduated before Jangjun made his debut as Golden Child, but Sujeong has previously mentioned that she had a labelmate who was in the same class as her. At the time, the Lovelyz member said she was able to receive full attention on her first day of school thanks to her labelmate. Fans suspect that she was referring to Jangjun but did not say his name as he was still a trainee.
The two were students in the Department of Applied Music at the School of Performing Arts School. While Jungkook was born in 1997 and is one year older than Yeeun, they were still in the same homeroom as the BTS member entered high school a year later.
9. DIA’s Chaeyeon and NCT’s Jaehyun
These two were in the same homeroom when Jaehyun was not a member of NCT yet! They were students in the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment at the School of Performing Arts Seoul.
The homeroom that consisted of these five 97-liners was considered legendary at the School of Performing Arts Seoul for having the most number of idols in one classroom. They all studied applied dance at the School of Performing Arts Seoul.

In the photo, the two are holding each other’s albums as the caption reads, “A selfie to celebrate winning and debuting! SinB, I’m glad to be able to congratulate you on your win right next to you. Congratulations on your win!”
Umji and Lee Hyun Joo became friends on the first day of high school. After orientation, they were heading to a restaurant to celebrate a friend’s birthday when Umji randomly received a request from her current agency to audition on the street! Afterward, the two reunited after debuting respectively in GFRIEND and APRIL.
13. NCT’s Jeno, Jaemin, and Weki Meki’s Choi Yoojung
Fans suspect that these three were in the same homeroom after a photo of a chalkboard, on which their names were written, surfaced online. They were students in the Department of Applied Music at the School of Performing Arts Seoul.
14. Weki Meki’s Doyeon and April’s Naeun

When Mina became the MC for MBC’s “Music Core,” the gugudan member expressed her excitement to be working together with her old friend, Mark. She said, “He was in the same homeroom with me in high school. I’m excited because I know I’ll get along with him easily in our new positions as MCs.”
