Ku Hye Sun Dedicates Instagram Post In Remembrance Of Jang Ja Yeon

On March 17, Ku Hye Sun wrote a touching post dedicated to the memory of Jang Ja Yeon.

The post showed an old poster of Ku Hye Sun in the KBS drama “Boys Over Flowers.” Photographed behind her are the actresses Gook Ji Yeon, Min Young Won, and the late Jang Ja Yeon.

In the caption, Ku Hye Sun wrote, “The unni who gave me hot packs for my hands. The unni that I regret I don’t have a single photo with. Rest peacefully in heaven. You are a beautiful soul.”

Ku Hye Sun and Jang Ja Yeon appeared together in the 2009 drama, in which Ku Hye Sun played the female lead, Geum Jan Di, and Jang Ja Yeon played one of the three “mean girls,” Sunny.

Jang Ja Yeon died by suicide in March 2009, leaving behind a final letter revealing that she had been forced to sexually entertain figures in the business and media world. At the time, the investigation into her death did not make the names in the letter publicly available and only two people were indicted: her agency CEO and manager. In 2018, a petition was submitted to the government to re-open the investigation in light of a witness coming forward, who was later revealed to be Jang Ja Yeon’s former colleague Yoon Ji Oh.
