Watch: Mnet Introduces The World Of Reality Show

A new glimpse has been shared of Mnet’s new reality show “I-LAND.”

The program is the first project to come from BELIF+, a joint venture between CJ ENM and Big Hit Entertainment. “I-LAND” is described as an observation reality show that will show the creation of next-generation K-pop artists, with participants both competing against and working with each other. The show recently shared profile photos of the applicants.

Actor Namgoong Min is the show’s storyteller, and Rain and Zico will be taking part as producers, with Big Hit founder Bang Si Hyuk as the general producer.

The new teaser for “I-LAND” gives a glimpse of the concept for the show. It takes viewers into a forest to show a large building that appears to be the space where the contestants stay as they compete on the show, a mysterious huge egg-shaped object in a studio, and a room with televisions that show CCTV footage. A screen displays 12 flags unfurling, each with a silhouette on it, and the egg begins an eight-day countdown.

“A space that had only existed in the imagination becomes real, in order to create global K-pop artists,” says Namgoong Min. “It’s a place where, under the system’s control, everyone must do well in order to be able to survive.”

The caption on the video continues to read, “Finally, the perfect system arises,” before he says, “This is ‘I-LAND,’ where my choice decides the survivors.”

Check out the dramatic teaser below!

“I-LAND” premieres on June 26 at 11 p.m. KST.
