Mnet’s “Road to Kingdom” is gearing up for its finale!

Before the show’s live finale, ONF, PENTAGON, The Boyz, VERIVERY, and ONEUS shared their thoughts on the show.

ONF shared, “Although it’s true that the burden is proportional to how much our ranking has risen, we won’t let go of the exciting tension until the end as we prepare for the competition.” ONF members also revealed that they gained a lot of confidence after many people expressed their interest in ONF’s cover of SHINee‘s “Everybody.” On their final live performance, they shared, “It holds the hopeful message that with someone special, we can escape the dark and rough reality and enter the new world we dreamed of. Please anticipate and watch the composition and dance performance of the stage that contains ONF’s unique story.”

PENTAGON chose their performance of “Shine” and “Spring Snow” as their most special performance. They commented, “Since it was the last stage before Jinho enlisted, we practiced the surprise stage secretly in order to not get caught by Jinho. I think it’ll remain in my memory forever.” PENTAGON also revealed that they were now close to ONF like brothers, explaining that they built many strong friendships through “Road to Kingdom.” For the finale, they shared, “We are preparing a performance with surprising stage compositions in addition to PENTAGON’s singing, dancing, and acting.”

The Boyz shared, “We felt very nervous and pressured from the beginning since it was our first competition program, but we were also excited by the thought of introducing ourselves to new people who hadn’t known The Boyz before.” The group chose their cover of Taemin‘s “Danger” as their most memorable performance since it included many interesting features such as magic tricks and human stairs. Finally, they shared, “Since we’re showcasing our new song for the first time, we’re nervous, but we’re preparing harder than anyone else. We will definitely take the throne.”

VERIVERY revealed that they were proud that they showcased their ability to take on diverse concepts through “Road to Kingdom.” They shared that a memorable moment from the show was when they celebrated and prepared cake for Gyehyeon’s birthday with TOO, who worked with VERIVERY for the collaboration mission. VERIVERY also shared, “We’ve prepared a surprise gift for everyone watching the stage,” asking viewers to look forward to their refreshing performance in the finale.

Finally, ONEUS expressed that it was a shame they couldn’t greet fans on set due to concerns regarding COVID-19. However, they shared that they were glad to be able to showcase their performances through the show. On their collaboration stage with The Boyz, ONEUS revealed, “We could relate with each other while talking about our times as trainees, and we had fun preparing for the performance since The Boyz treated us well.” They added, “We’re glad to have been given the opportunity to perform until the last stage, and viewers will be able to further immerse in our final stage if they watch the concept film for our new song ‘Come Back Home.'”

The live finale featuring the five groups will air worldwide on June 18 at 8 p.m. KST.
