Former AOA Member Mina Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Commenter

Former AOA member Mina has taken legal action against a malicious commenter.

On August 24, Mina’s agency Woori Actors revealed that they have filed for civil damages against a malicious commenter. Woori Actors said, “We are taking legal action against a user of [online community] DC Inside who is defaming Kwon Mina. We have filed a civil lawsuit against one user who defamed Kwon Mina in a post, and we plan to take legal action against other users in order.”

On behalf of former AOA member Kwon Mina, the law firm Hyun Jae (lawyer Kim Ga Ram) has filed for civil damages against a user of the online community dcinside.com (hereby referred to as DC Inside) who has defamed Kwon Mina on DC Inside’s AOA gallery, [online community] Nate Pann, and more.

First of all, this case is not related to Kwon Mina’s former agency FNC Entertainment. We are taking legal action against users of DC Inside who are defaming Kwon Mina.

Recently, in addition to simply criticizing Kwon Mina on DC Inside, the user has created an open chat room on KakaoTalk to create public criticism against Kwon Mina, to discuss ways to effectively attack her, and more. They are currently in the act of killing her character in a way that is hard to even describe.

Kwon Mina’s family and her current agency Woori Actors have been putting in a lot of effort to prevent Kwon Mina from becoming exposed to inappropriate external events.

However, due to this malicious behavior, Kwon Mina’s symptoms have begun to worsen drastically, and we have decided that we cannot condone such behavior, so we have first filed for civil damages against a user from DC Inside who defamed Kwon Mina in a post on Nate Pann, and we plan to take legal action against other users in order.

We sincerely ask that they stop with the malicious activity toward Kwon Mina, and in the case that this inappropriate behavior continues, we will take all legal action possible for civil and criminal damages.

In July, Mina shared a series of posts in which she wrote that she had been bullied by her former member Jimin for several years. Jimin went on to share a written apology, which Mina responded to. Jimin later left the group. Since then, Mina has talked about her relationship with the other AOA members and her continued frustrations as she tries to receive a sincere apology from the AOA members and FNC Entertainment.

In early August, Mina posted on Instagram a photo of her cut wrist and a concerning message. Afterwards, Woori Actors shared that she was being treated at a hospital. Mina wrote an apology after her discharge from the hospital and deleted her Instagram account. She is currently focusing on her treatment.
