MCND Shares How UP10TION’s Lee Jin Hyuk Helped Them Prepare For Comeback With “Crush”
The rookie boy group made their highly-anticipated return with their second mini album “MCND AGE” earlier this week, and they sat down for an interview with Korean news outlet OSEN to share their thoughts on the comeback.
The MCND members spoke confidently about their new music and performances, remarking, “We’ve improved in terms of our dancing skills and our ability to pull off choreography. I think we’re now able to be a bit more relaxed on stage and really enjoy performing. I also think our new title track ‘Crush‘ has more of a hip hop vibe and a luxurious feel [compared to our previous releases].”
The idols also talked about the support and encouragement they receive from their various TOP Media labelmates, including UP10TION’s Kim Woo Seok and Lee Jin Hyuk, both of whom are also scheduled to make comebacks in the first half of the year. “All of our senior artists always give us a lot of good advice,” said MCND, “but Jin Hyuk hyung in particular cheered us on a lot [while we were preparing].”
“[Lee Jin Hyuk] even contacted us on the day we were filming our music video for ‘Crush’ and gave us helpful comments,” they added. “He gives a lot of feedback, advice, and praise on our performances, content, or things we haven’t tried before.”
Finally, when asked about their burgeoning popularity abroad and the positive response they received around the globe after their debut with “ICE AGE” last year, MCND commented, “We’re grateful that people are looking kindly on the energy we show through our flashy and diverse performances, as well as our ability to pull off a wide array of concepts. Thanks to them, we’re able to feel happy while making music.”
