Kim Jong Kook, Ji Hyun Woo, Noh Sang Hyun, And More To Star In Travel Variety Show By Former "Home Alone" ("I Live Alone") PD

Kim Jong Kook, Ji Hyun Woo, and more will be teaming up with the producing director (PD) behind “Home Alone” (“I Live Alone”) for a new variety show!

Earlier this month, it was reported that MBC was launching a new variety show by PD Hwang Ji Young, who led “Home Alone” through its prime.

The new program is called “Fluttering the Overcoat Hems” (literal translation of working title) and follows the cast as they vacation around the world to introduce traditional Korean products to locals. The cast includes singer Kim Jong Kook, actors Ji Hyun Woo and Noh Sang Hyun, model and actor Joo Woo Jae, and short track speed skater Hwang Dae Heon.

From a popular singer to an all-around entertainer, Kim Jong Kook will elevate his variety show skills to a global scale with this new program. As someone who uniquely thinks of traveling as a trip to exercise somewhere new, Kim Jong Kook will now have to flip a switch and focus on educating others about Korean culture.

In his first variety show, Ji Hyun Woo will be able to branch out from his image as a gentleman and proudly express his true self. The actor prepares as diligently for a trip as he would an acting project, showcasing his detail-oriented personality right from the start.

Model Joo Woo Jae has previously shown that he’s more than just a pretty face with different appearances on various variety shows. However, viewers will be able to see a new charm from Joo Woo Jae as he takes off on his first extended vacation.

After capturing hearts of viewers all over the globe with his role in Apple TV+’s “Pachinko,” Noh Sang Hyun will now be able to embark on his own global journey. As he previously studied abroad, speaks English well, and has travelling experience, Noh Sang Hyun is said to have easily earned the trust of his fellow cast members.

Beijing 2022 gold medalist Hwang Dae Heon will be appearing on a variety show as a fixed cast member for the first time! As the only cast member in their 20s, Hwang Dae Heon will lower the group’s average age while also impressively increasing the group’s average athletic skillset.

In addition to the unique cast, viewers can also look forward to seeing a variety show from PD Hwang Ji Young for the first time in awhile. Hwang Ji Young was the PD for “Home Alone” for five years, from 2016 to 2021. During her run, Hwang Ji Young led “Home Alone” to win “Variety Program of the Year” at the MBC Entertainment Awards in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

The five cast members of “Fluttering the Overcoat Hems” will soon embark to Denmark, their first travel destination.
