ITZY, EXO’s Baekhyun, aespa, SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ, And ENHYPEN Earn Circle Million Certifications; BTS, J-Hope, NCT, Stray Kids, (G)I-DLE, And STAYC Go Platinum
Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.
On September 8, Circle Chart announced that it had awarded six albums official million certifications for selling over a million copies each.
Meanwhile, both Kim Ho Joong’s “PANORAMA” and Young Tak’s “MMM” were certified double platinum for selling over 500,000 copies each.
Finally, BTS’s J-Hope‘s “Jack In The Box” (Weverse version), NCT’s “RESONANCE Pt. 1” (KiT version), Stray Kids’ “I am NOT,” (G)I-DLE’s “I NEVER DIE” and STAYC’s “WE NEED LOVE” were all certified platinum after selling 250,000 copies each.
In the streaming category, BTS’s 2019 smash hit “Boy With Luv” (featuring Halsey) was certified triple platinum after surpassing 300 million streams.
Both Baek Yerin’s “Square (2017)” and Jeon Mi Do’s “I Knew I Love” (from the soundtrack of her drama “Hospital Playlist) also earned official platinum certifications after reaching 100 million streams each.
Last but not least, Loco’s “It Takes Time” (featuring Colde) was certified platinum in the download category for surpassing 2.5 million downloads.
Congratulations to all of the artists!
