DAY6 (Even Of Day) To Appear On “Immortal Songs” While In The Military

Despite still being in the military, DAY6’s (Even of Day) will be appearing on “Immortal Songs”!

On September 16, the official homepage of “Immortal Songs” announced that they would hold the recording for the program’s 72nd Anniversary Armed Forces Day special on September 26. The special broadcast is described as “a time to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the Republic of Korea army with citizens and soldiers currently working hard to protect and detect the homeland.”

According to the announcement, this episode will feature PSY, Jung In, Ali, LA POEM, Brave Girls, VIVIZ, trot singer and former soldier Park Goon, and musical actors Jung Sung Hwa, Jung Sun Ah, and Jo Hwan Ji. They will be joined by the DAY6 unit Even of Day—which consists of members Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, who are all currently serving in the military.

Last October, Young K enlisted in KATUSA, the Korean Augmentation Troops to the United States Army, and became the first K-pop idol to join the esteemed branch. In January, Dowoon enlisted early as a member of the military band, and this past March, Wonpil became the first idol to enlist in the navy.

Although most fans are lucky to get a picture here and there of their favorite idols in the military, DAY6 has been almost as active as before, gifting fans songs, broadcast appearances, and more while completing their service.

Earlier this month, DAY6 (Even of Day) appeared on Lee Miyeop’s Lala Radio, while Young K recently greeted fans on a broadcast documenting his journey to win the “2022 Eighth Army Best Warrior Competition.” In March, Wonpil appeared at the Naval Soldiers Graduation Ceremony as the representative naval officer.

Young K and Dowoon also reunited in August when they both attended the “9th Open Concert in the Woods” and gave live performances of DAY6’s hit songs “You Were Beautiful” and “Time of Our Life.”

The group has also consistently shared music with their fans, with Young K still uploading monthly covers for his solo cover project “YOUNG ONE.” Since April, Wonpil has also shared three covers of his own. Most notably, the trio dropped a new summer song “Darling of the Beach” (literal translation) in August.

Stay tuned to see DAY6 on an upcoming broadcast of “Immortal Songs,” which airs on Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. KST!
