BTS, Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, BLACKPINK, And TXT Claim 8 Of 10 Top Spots On IFPI's 2022 Global Album Sales Chart

K-pop artists have dominated this year’s IFPI Global Album Sales chart!

On March 27 local time, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) – a non-profit organization that represents the music recording industry worldwide – announced their top 10 rankings for this year’s Global Album Sales chart.

IFPI’s Global Albums Sales chart ranks the year’s biggest albums based on the number of units sold across all physical formats, including paid full album downloads.

Among this year’s top 10 are six K-pop artists taking over eight total spots. The highest entry for a K-pop act in 2022 was BTS with their anthology album “Proof” landing in No. 2.

Stray Kids’ first of two entries was at No. 4 with “MAXIDENT” while “ODDINARY” ranked at No. 8. SEVENTEEN also had two albums in the top 10 with “Face the Sun” placing fifth and their repackaged album “SECTOR 17” scoring the No. 9 position.

In No. 6 was “MANIFESTO: DAY 1” by ENHYPEN followed by BLACKPINK’s second studio album “BORN PINK” in seventh. Rounding out the top 10 was TXT’s fourth mini album “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child.”
