The Unforgettable Cameos That Made

One of the most talked about dramas at the moment, whether positively or negatively, is undoubtedly “Producer.” Much of its popularity comes from the main cast that some call the “Big 4”: Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Soo Hyun, and IU. But another amazing aspect of this drama lies elsewhere. Although only at its forth episode, the drama is at a record high of cameos. And they’re not just any old set of cameos, they include some of the most popular, most famous, and best of the best. Check them out below!

TaeTiSeo

TaeTiSeo made a brief appearance at the cafeteria, casually getting food. Taeyeon also had a few lines in an interview format, showcasing her acting skills.

Top Actresses of Korea

Yoon Yeo Jung, Geum Bo Ra, Hwang Shin Hye, and Hyun Young were the original cast of “1 Night, 2 Days” that had to be let go at the beginning of the story. As actual actresses, these four ladies absolutely killed their parts.

New Recruits

Some of the top male celebrities of Korea appear as new possible recruits of “1 Night, 2 Days,” who all politely reject because of some reason or another. This group consisted of Shin Dong Yup, Yoo Hee Yeol, Jo Jung Chi, Jeon Hyun Moo, and Yoon Jong Shin.

JYP Recruits

At one point, Ra Joon Mo (Cha Tae Hyun) sets out to the JYP building in order to recruit Suzy (miss A). Instead, he’s given a video call with Park Jin Young himself, introduced by a video which included Jo Kwon (2AM), Sunmi, Nichkhun (2PM), and Jackson (GOT7).

Idols of Variety

The new cast of “1 Night, 2 Days” includes a top star cast (that we would love in real life). The other two girls besides Cindy (IU) are Sandara Park (2NE1) and Kim Ji Soo, a member of YG’s new girl group. The three male idols were played by Minwoo (Boyfriend), Kang Seung Yoon (WINNER), and Kim Min Jae, another YG trainee.

Hani (EXID) almost joins the cast, but gets in a drunk fight. She shows up briefly dancing to “Up and Down” in a jail cell, as all of the police officers go crazy and dance along.

Park Bo Gum, the current MC for “Music Bank,” also makes a brief appearance as… the MC for “Music Bank.”

Ex-Boyfriends

Jang Hyuk and Lee Chun Hee appear as two of Tak Ye Jin’s (Gong Hyo Jin) ex-boyfriends, explaining why they broke up with her. Even in the short excerpt, they both show off their individual charm.

“Hello Counselor”

At the beginning of episode three, Baek Seung Chan (Kim Soo Hyun) is a guest on the popular show “Hello Counselor.” The MCs of the show – Shin Dong Yup, Lee Young Ja, and Cultwo (Jung Chan Woo and Kim Tae Gyoon) – appear as they do on the actual show, adding a nice authentic feeling.

PDs and FDs

Finally, some are cameos as fellow PDs and FDs in the company. Kim Jong Kook cameos as a PD who is desperate for a new program. Lee Ju Seung is an FD for “1 Night, 2 Days” who seems to live in the supply closet and once in a while appears to give advice to Baek Seung Chan. Jo Yoon Hee acted as Baek Seung Chan’s first love – the reason he became a producer in the first place – who is initially dating Ra Joon Mo and then quits after they break up.

Whether you love “Producer” or find it disappointing, you have to hand it to the production team for recruiting so many celebrities to cameo for the drama. Yes, it was easy to incorporate into the plot because the story is based in a broadcasting company, but nonetheless, the line-up is nothing but impressive. So choosing my top 5 was extremely tough, but here it is:

Top 5

5. Shin Dong Yup and Jang Hyuk.

I couldn’t choose one, so I cheated and went with both because they’re both fifth for similar reasons. I liked both of them a lot; even in their short pieces- they fully encompassed their parts and portrayed their characters well. They’re both fifth just because their parts were too short. Not their fault, but I did want to see more.

4. Kang Seung Yoon.

Maybe it’s because of his previous acting experience, but he stood out from all of the idols in his acting. He was good – very good – at acting like… an idol.

3. Park Jin Young.

I was pleasantly surprised by his acting. He was relatively natural at it and quite funny.

2. Lee Ju Seung.

I hadn’t noticed him before, but this guy is everywhere. And for good reason too. I absolutely love his parts, no matter how short. And in “Producer,” he pulls off the sketchy-yet-wise character extremely well.

1. Yoon Yeo Jung.

Definitely a veteran and a legend. She was flawless in her part, setting the tone for the rest of the drama to be tastefully comical and oddly touching.
