Ha Ji Won will play the South Korean ping pong star “Hyun Jung Hwa,” and Bae Doo Na plays the North Korean ping pong athlete “Lee Boon Hee.” “Korea” is based on the true story about the first united North-South Korean ping pong team at the 1991 World Championships. “Hyun Jung Hwa” received the gold medal at the event. So Ji Sub will be coming back to television! Currently it has been confirmed that he is cast for the upcoming SBS drama “Ghost.” (This is a temporary name) The drama will be science fiction. It will be about a cyber-world and cyber investigators trying to solve the secret behind humans hiding inside of advanced machinery. The drama will contain a mixture of suspense and mystery.
Yoo Seung Ho to Appear on Goo Hye Sun’s Short Film "Fragments of Memories"
The actor Yoo Seung Ho will appear on Goo Hye Sun’s short film “Fragments of Memories.” The film is about a main character who thinks through precious memories. Yoo Seung Ho will play a “happy memory” in the sense that he will represent the happy memories. The movie will use the 4K 3D production system for the first time. Goo Hye Sun will be working with the filming director “Ji Gil Woong” who also worked on the highly popular film the “King and the Clown.” The second long-film directed by Goo Hye Sun, “Peach Tree” will be released in April.

Dimension Films to Remake Won Bin’s “The Man from Nowhere”
On March 8 it was reported that Dimension Films bought the rights for “The Man from Nowhere” starring Won Bin. According to a press release, the screenwriter Shawn Christensen who wrote the script for the 2011 film “Abduction” (Starring Taylor Lautner) will be a part of the adaptation.
Why Can’t Korean Films Ever Break Into the Academy Awards?
On February 27, The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film went to an Iranian film, "A Separation." The Academy Awards started giving out Best Foreign Language Film awards in 1956. South Korea has been submitting films for nomination every year since 1963. Korea’s first submission was "Mother and the Houseguest" by director Shin Sang Ok. However, Korea has been unlucky all those years as no Korean films have ever been a final nominee for the Academy awards. This year, films from more than 60 countries have been submitted in the category of Best Foreign Language Film.
Stars Attend VIP Premiere of "Gabi"

"Love Fiction" Surpasses 1 Million Viewers Within 5 Days of Release
According to KOFIC (The Korean Film Council) on March 5, “Love Fiction” reached 1,013,822 viewers. On the first weekend of March the film had 567,819 viewers. This is a new record in terms of amount of viewers amassed within 5 days of its release. “200 Pounds Beauty” had reached a million viewers in 6 days of its release.
