Multiracial Boy Group ESQ Makes First TV Appearance

ESQ is the first international boy group to debut in Korea. ESQ, which stands for ESQUIRE, made their first television appearance on September 13 through SBS’s “Hallyu Olympics.” The group covered BEAST’s “Breath” and MBLAQ’s “Mona Lisa,” and performed a short part of their debut single, “Monster.” Other idols on the show, including MBLAQ, T-ara, miss A, and 2AM praised the rookie group on their performance.

K-Pop Stars to Visit Peru for Volunteer Work

In celebration of their 50th anniversary, MBC will be running a special program titled, "KOICA’s Dream: Peru," with six celebrity teams participating in a volunteer trip to Peru. Participating celebrities include Park Bo Young, MBLAQ’s G.O. and Mir, Park Jung Ah, Goo Jun Yub, and Kim Ho Jin. They will be leaving for Peru on September 14 for two weeks to help rebuild schools and bathrooms with 20 medical staff who will also provide medial treatment and vaccine services. They’ll also teach Korean and spread Korean culture like Taekwondo to local people. The group will return to Korea on Sept. 28.

Blady’s Bunhong Reveals Her Connection with MBLAQ’s Thunder

In her recent interview, rookie girl group Blady’s Bunhong, shared an unfortunate instance where she became a victim to hateful replies because of a particular CF she starred in with MBLAQ’s Thunder. Blady is a four member girl group that debuted with "Crazy Day" on July 27. Bunhong in particular has pre-debut experience starring in CFs, dramas, and game shows.

MBLAQ: "Brazil Knows About K-Pop"

On September 10, MBLAQ returned to Korea at around 7:10 AM KST from Brazil, where they visited to act as judges from MBC’s "K-Pop Cover Dance Festival." Their trip was an especially important one, as it proved that not only did they have immense popularity and support in Asia, but also in South America as well.

MBLAQ Tops Music Chart in Bulgaria

MBLAQ has landed the top spot of the music charts in Bulgaria. According to J. Tune Entertainment, MBLAQ’s agency, last September 9 the group’s song “Mona Lisa” was listed at the peak position of the music charts in Bulgaria.
