2NE1’s Dara Is "Variety Show-phobic"

On March 27, 2NE1’s Dara half-jokingly admitted on her Me2Day that she’s “variety show-phobic.” The message came as a surprise as it was written just a few hours before the broadcasting of SBS “Strong Heart,” which will be held as a YG special starring Big Bang, Se7en, 2NE1, Psy, Gummy, Sean, and Tablo.

Tablo’s Father Passes Away

With a heavy heart we report the following news. Tablo’s father Lee Kwang Bu passed away on March 26 at 10:40 am due to a chronic disease. Tablo’s father’s funeral home is at the Seoul Samsung Hospital funeral. On March 25, Tablo wrote on his twitter, “Don’t Be Sick.” (There was no other explanation for the tweet.)

Tablo’s "Fever’s End" Album Wins "2011 Album of the Year" from Hiphopplaya.com

On February 27 the website “Hiphopplaya.com” announced the winner for their “Album of the Year” for 2011. The winner was Tablo’s “Fever’s End.” After hearing about the news Tablo made a statement, “Thank you for the hip hop fans that gave time for my album, when there were so many other good albums in 2011. I am currently pursuing activities as a song writer at YG Entertainment. Every day I am making music.”

YG Family Concert Tour Successfully Ends

The YG Family Concert tour in both Korea and Japan successfully came to an end. This tour was in commemoration of YG’s 15th anniversary and featured the top YG artists such as Jinusean, Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en, Gummy, Psy, Tablo and more. The YG family toured around Korea and Japan, reaching crowds of 20,000 people and more. Each team/artist showed strong and charismatic performances. Since it was the first joint concert in five years, fans showed a lot of love as well.

Dynamic Duo’s Gaeko Receives Childcare Advice from Kang Hye Jung

Dynamic Duo’s Gaeko, who recently became a father to an adorable baby boy named Rhythm spoke briefly about being a father and recieving advice from other celebrity parents. Dynamic Duo appeared on SBS Power FM’s open studio radio, "Fire Club 1999," on January 13 and were asked a few questions regarding Gaeko’s new role as a father. Boom asked, "What has changed the most now that Gaeko has become a father?"

YG Artists Perform 41 Songs at “YG Family Concert Japan”

On January 7 and 8, YG Entertainment held its “15th Anniversary YG Family Concert” in Osaka, Japan, bringing in a total of 80,000 fans to both concerts. Starring its full YGE artist list, the concert featured 41 total performances by Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en, Gummy, Tablo, Psy, as well as old-school hip hop group, JinuSean.

YG Family Concert in Japan Expected to Make $26 Million USD

YG Entertainment’s two city concert in Japan expected to pull in more than 30 billion won ($2,600,000 USD) in revenue. YG Entertainment is preparing for their YG Family 15th Anniversary Concert that is to begin this weekend. The YG Family will be performing at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan on January 7 and 8 in front of an anticipated crowd of 80,000. The same is estimated for the shows scheduled for January 21 and 22 at the Super Arena in Saitama. In total 16 million spectators will be in attendance for the two city tour.
