"Boys Over Flowers" is Popular in North Korea

The Korean Wave is even reaching North Korea. On September 15, the RFA reported that “Boys Over Flowers” is currently very popular amongst middle school, high school, and college students in North Korea. According to the broadcast, currently in North Korea there are only 21 episodes of the 25 that are being circulated in North Korea. Currently people are frantically looking for the final four episodes. It was said on the broadcast, “People that are selling Korean films illegally are trying hard to obtain the last episodes of ‘Boys Over Flowers’ but they aren’t having much luck. Whoever obtains the episodes and begins distributing them will make a lot of money.”

Lee Ji Ah Might Appear on "Return of the Queen"

Lee Ji Ah briefly stopped her acting career after the divorce lawsuit with Seo Taiji. However, currently she is reviewing whether to appear on a drama or not. The temporary title of the drama is “Return of the Queen” and Lee Ji Ah has received the offer to appear as the drama’s main character. Lee Ji Ah’s agency Key East Entertainment stated on September 16, “She has received an offer to appear on the drama and the drama’s storyline and character are good, so we are positively reviewing the drama.” However, “She has not confirmed a decision to appear on the drama, and currently within Key East we are discussing when she should return to acting.”

Shin Se Kyung Confirmed to Appear on "Infinity Challenge" Along With Many Other Celebrities

Shin Se Kyung has finally had her wish come true and will be appearing on a future episode of MBC “Infinity Challenge” along with a whole host of other celebrities including Jung Jae Hyung, Kim Shin Young, All Lies Band’s Woo Seung Min and Lee Jung.

"Strong Heart" Production Team’s Secret Message for Kang Ho Dong

Kang Ho Dong recently had trouble with taxes and has announced his temporary retirement. One of the staff members from SBS “Strong Heart,” had stated that “Mr. Kang’s last day may be September 27.” However, the interesting fact is that the production team of “Strong Heart” seems to have left a secret message for Kang Ho Dong for the episode of Strong Heart that was broadcast on September 13. Because the episode was a Chuseok special, a full moon showed up whenever the winner of a talk battle was shown on screen. Within the full moon are letters that make a special message.

2AM & 2PM Body Training Secrets Revealed

Known for their buff and jacked bodies, 2PM and 2AM work out secrets will be revealed through SBS TV show. KBS’s "Living Show" will be covering a segment on 2PM 2AM trainer Hwang Jin Ho. Trainer Hwang will be discussing the work out habits and dieting habits of the boys.

K-Pop Stars to Visit Peru for Volunteer Work

In celebration of their 50th anniversary, MBC will be running a special program titled, "KOICA’s Dream: Peru," with six celebrity teams participating in a volunteer trip to Peru. Participating celebrities include Park Bo Young, MBLAQ’s G.O. and Mir, Park Jung Ah, Goo Jun Yub, and Kim Ho Jin. They will be leaving for Peru on September 14 for two weeks to help rebuild schools and bathrooms with 20 medical staff who will also provide medial treatment and vaccine services. They’ll also teach Korean and spread Korean culture like Taekwondo to local people. The group will return to Korea on Sept. 28.

KBS’s "Hello" Is Monday Night’s Number One Variety Show

KBS’ show "Hello" has kicked off MBC’s "Come to Play" from the throne as Monday night’s number one variety show. On September 12, it was reported that "Hello" had a viewer rate of 9.1% (according to AGB Nielsen Media Research), while "Come to Play" followed behind at 7.6%. On the special Chuseok episode of "Hello", Super Junior’s Eun Hyuk, Shin Dong, Dong Hae, and Kyu Hyun appeared on the show. This episode featured regular citizens as well, who discussed topics starting from underwear size to fear of bugs.
