The second teaser for KARA’s upcoming song "Step" was released today. They will release the song“Step” on September 5 and the full album on September 6. On September 7, they will air three live shows through their YouTube channel, featuring behind the scene and individual self-filmed videos.

Kara Unveils Teaser for New Single “Step”

On August 30th, Kara revealed the first teaser of their upcoming single, “Step.” Produced by Han Che Ho and Kim Seung Soo, “Step” features a good mix of rock and electronic beats. Since the release of the video, fans have been discussing whether today’s teaser is from the actual music video or not. The teaser’s background looks quite different from the behind the scene photos released earlier, and many are wondering how they are related to each other.

Kara Opens Own YouTube Channel Ahead of Comeback

Kara announced today that they will open their own YouTube channel with their agency DSP Media. Kara’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/DSPKara) will provide three live shows, behind the scene videos, self-recorded (selcas) footage of each member, as well as a forum space where fans can directly communicate with the group.

Kara Will Leave for France to Meet Their Perfume’s Manufacturer

Kara will leave for France in order to meet the manufacturers of their perfume with the same name. On August 25th their agency DSP media stated, “With Kara’s perfume that will be released in December hanging in the distance, Kara will leave for France on August 29th to meet the manufacturers. At France, Kara will be directly involved in the manufacturing and design process. Also, they will take part in a photo shoot where the photo album will be released both in Korea and Japan.”

KARA to Release Comeback Album "Step" Early September

KARA will be releasing their third official album followed by domestic promotions and activities. Last year, the girls released their 4th mini album entitled, “Jumping” and since then they have been promoting overseas in Japan. The new album called “Step” will mark KARA’s long awaited comeback to Korea, which fans are greatly curious and anticipating their upcoming release.

Japanese Anti-Hallyu Protests Continue

MBC’s “Current Events Magazine 2580” had a press release about the anti-hallyu (Anti-Korean Wave) protests that appear to be increasing. On the episode that featured the anti-hallyu protests that was broadcast on August 21st, K-Pop’s popularity and also its anti-movement were shown. The episode showed many protestors saying extremely critical things about Korean celebrities. One protestor was shown with a microphone saying, “Don’t force anti-hallyu on us Fuji TV, I don’t want to watch Korean dramas.” Other protestors were shown screaming “Hurrah to the Japanese Emperor,” also people were saying “Amongst the people passing by we can even see the face of some Josen-jin.” (Josen-jin is a derogatory word that the Japanese use to describe Koreans.)

"K-Pop All Star Live in Niigata" a Resounding Success [Performances Included]

45,000 Japanese fans gathered at Niigata Big Swan Stadium on August 20 to watch many of the hottest groups in K-Pop perform. The artist lineup, which featured groups who are established in the Japanese market, consisted of CN Blue, BEAST, SNSD, Kara, 4minute, SECRET, 2PM, 2AM, Infinite, SISTAR, and Norazo. There were also special collaboration stages, including a performance from once-couple on "We Got Married,” CN Blue’s Jung Yong Hwa and SNSD’s Seohyun.
