SBS “K-Pop Star” Updates on Changed Format

SBS “K-Pop Star” gave an update on its new format which will take place in March once the show goes live. Park Sung Hoon, the show’s main producer, said, “We’ll trim down the final list to 10 contestants and air live from then. Every week, one contestant will be eliminated. After nine episodes, we’ll determine the final winner in the last week of April.”

Yang Hyun Suk: "I Like to Think of Big Bang as Six Teams"

The producer and director of YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun Suk, admits that 2011 was one of his most painful years. Two of his dearest friends and pupils had accidents in that year. Not only Daesung, but also G-Dragon got into an incident. These issues have been resolved now, but at the time of the happening, it was very hard for all of them. Daesung got involved in a tragic traffic accident and G-Dragon was accused of smoking marijuana. However, after leaving all these unlucky moments behind, Big Bang is ready to rock again this coming March. They have appeared in a few European and American cities last year, but this year they will officially start their world tour.

What Do Big Bang and “K-Pop Star” Su Pearls Have in Common?

In a recent interview with OSEN, YG Entertainment’s founder and chairman Yang Hyun Suk discussed for the first time why he almost shed tears on SBS "K-Pop Star." On January 22, he admitted on the show that he was almost brought to tears after watching the Su Pearl’s performance. The reason was surprisingly because of the similarities he sees between Big Bang and Su Pearls, who was recently disbanded on “K-Pop Star” due to their superior performance skills.
