Infinity Challenge Gets a Warning from the KCC

Korea’s strict censorship is at it once again, this time’s victim is MBC’s immense popular variety show “Infinity Challenge”. On September 18, “Infinity Challenge” got a warning from the Korea Broadcasting and Communications Review Committee (KCC) for using “vulgar” expressions and yelling too loudly.

International Fans Show Support for "Heartstrings" in Internet Polls

“Heartstrings” may have trailed in ratings at home, but fans the world over have definitely fallen for it. The MBC youth melodrama was recently voted “Best Korean Drama” on a user-generated page of the search engine site Squidoo.com. Similarly on a fan-created “Best of Korea” page on social networking site Facebook, “Heartstrings” won over “Dream High” and “You’re Beautiful” for “Best Teen Drama.”

Super Star K3 Controversy: The Devil’s Edit

The editing/production team of Super Star K3 has gained the reputation of being “Devil Editors” in that they make the show very exciting but also at the same time, they are receiving criticism for editing clips in a way to make the contestants appear in an unfavorable light. One team contestant “Yerie Band” just left Super Star K3 altogether, accusing Super Star K3 of editing in a way to make them seem like “Trash.” The group’s leader Han Seung Oh stated, “Super Star K3 is giving itself a medal by using words such as ‘Devil’s Edit’ and ‘Exploiting Broadcast’ in order to better themselves while beautifying their editing as “skills” when it is actually manipulative.“

SNSD to Fill in for Song Ji Hyo on SBS "Running Man"

Song Ji Hyo was hospitalized earlier today for dyspnoea, making it impossible for her to attend the filming for SBS’s "Running Man." The six members of SNSD will replace her for filming on September 19. Members Taeyeon, YoonA, Yuri, Jessica, hyoyeon, and Seohyun joined up with the cast at Goyang-si, Kyungki-do in the afternoon of the 19 to play an upgraded version of the ‘paired race’ that was played in an episode from July.

SBS’s successful variety show “Running Man” aired its China special on September 18. The guests in this episode were the charismatic actor Kim Joo Hyuk, the beautiful actress Lee Yeon Hee and Kara’s Kang Ji Young. The “Running Man” members and their guests held a mission race through all of Beijing, running from the Great Wall through Shichahai and the Beihai Park.
