MBC’s "The Moon that Embraces the Sun" Expected to Make a Killing Overseas

MBC’s Foreign Business Administration Headquarters discussed sending "The Moon That Embraces the Sun" to foreign countries after the first episode’s airing. Previous MBC historical dramas such as "Queen Seon Duk," "Jumong," and "Jjak Pae" have all been successes. The viewer rate after the first episode, which was an impressive 18% according to AGB Nielsen Media Research, has added fuel to the discussion.

The 4th Idol Star Athletics Championship was held as an MBC Lunar New Year special program on January 24. A whopping number of around 150 idol stars participated in this event but a few seemed to have received the spotlight such as B1A4’s Baro and Dal Shabet’s Gaeun. MBC aired its sixth episode of hit series “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” last night, finally featuring its adult cast. The drama has been off to a great start, rewriting personal bests [ratings] with every new episode.

"High Kick 3" Features "Inception" Parody

The January 17 episode of the MBC sitcom, "High Kick 3: Counterattack of the Short Legs," featured an "Inception"-like parody. In this espisode Ji Seok (Seo Ji Seok) kisses Ha Sun (Park Ha Sun) in an effort to confirm their feelings for each other. However, he wakes up in a hospital bed in the next scene. As we make our way through the episode, we learn that Ji Seok was involved in a car accident on the way to the airport to see Ha Sun. Ha Sun, with the support of her counsin, decided to follow her parents wishes and head to America.
