G.I. Joe 2’s Asian Success Rests on Lee Byung Hun’s Shoulders

“G.I. Joe 2” (“G.I. Joe: Retaliation”) will release in theaters worldwide on June 21, 2012. Currently, G.I. Joe 2 is having major promotion tours in South Korea and Japan that involves its cast Lee Byung Hun, Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, and Dwane Johnson (The Rock). The reason is that Lee Byung Hun’s ticket power in South Korea and Japan was shown through the previous film “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.”

The Film “Nameless Gangster" Reaches 4 Million Viewers

Choi Min Sik and Ha Jung Woo’s “Nameless Gangster” reached 4 million viewers. On February 28 KOFIC announced that on February 27 “Nameless Gangster” had 47,559 viewers. That puts the total viewers of “Nameless Gangster” at 4,035,230. “Nameless Gangster” was released on February 2, and within 25 days it has surpassed 4 million viewers. Within 2012 it is the film that has made 4 million viewers within the shortest amount of time.

JYJ’s documentary “The Day” had problems finding an outlet to show but now that they have overcome that hurdle, everything is gravy! “The Day” will release in theaters in Lotte Cinema theaters on February 23. According to “KOFIC” (Korean Film Council) the reservations of movie tickets is #1 at nearly 45%. Lotte Cinema is very surprised at the current results. A representative stated, “We knew that there were a lot of JYJ fans, however we didn’t know that they would have this much influence. We are receiving calls from overseas fans as well.”

Dal Shabet’s Jiyool Appears in Short Film “Her Story”

Dal Shabet’s Jiyool was cast for a short film and just wrapped up filming. The short film that she appears in is “Her Story” which is being directed by Yoon Tae Shik. The director Yoon Tae Shik received the Grand Prix award during the Seoul International Film Festival for his film “Doenjang.” Her character was “Han Na.” Han Na took Polaroid pictures of memorable places where she spent with her boyfriend. The boyfriend’s role was portrayed by rookie actor Park Sang Hyuk. Jiyool’s character “Han Nah” misses her boyfriend who has left for Hawaii. In the short film, she even had a kiss scene.
