Kara ‘s "Super Girl" Takes Oricon Chart’s #1 Spot

Kara has done it again as "Super Girl," their second full length album, topped the Oricon Charts on the day of its release. "Super Girl" sold about 73,094 physical copies on its release day and quickly topped the Oricon Daily Album Charts. The gap between the first and second place of the chart was huge with 73,094 copies sold for Kara and only 29,271 for Japanese singer Nana Mizuki.

DBSK, Kara and 2NE1 to Compete for Honors in Japan Record Awards

K-Pop groups DBSK, Kara and 2NE1 are in contention for honors in the upcoming 53rd Japan Record Award. DBSK’s “Keep Your Head Down” and Kara’s “Go Go Summer” are both competing for the grand prize. 2NE1, meanwhile, is competing for the best newcomer award. The three groups are up against Japanese artists in their respective categories.

On October 23, Kara released its second official Japanese album "Super Girls", and by November 16, released the album for download availability in the iTunes store. By ranking number one on the top downloads, Kara has shown its immense popularity, not just in the Korean entertainment industry, but on a Hallyu level as well.
